A light of beauty

Beautiful, determined, successful (in all her roles, anyway), full of energy, youthful-looking… – all this and more is what a modern woman should be in her perfection. But what if we finally understood – and really understood and internalised! -that the beauty and energy that reside at our core, at our heart, are in themselves — absolutely perfect?

If we were to accept this (perhaps new to us) truth and realise – truly and deeply – that all our being needs is ‘just’ our support, that alone would make our life more relaxed, more joyful and — well, (full) full after all! 😁 Before we turn to this ‘just’ support, let’s think about why we are actually so burdened (if not napsyched) nowadays – not only women, but also men – with, to put it mildly, the “just” support, and why we are so much – not only women, but also men – burdened (if not napsyched) with, to put it mildly. about our appearance.

Already Freud talked about the fact that every human being has a HE (comparable to an energetic horse), an I (i.e. the driver of the chariot pulled by the ‘energetic horse’) and a SUPERIOR (i.e. the ‘father of the I’, who sits behind the chariot and dictates to the chariot driver how and where to lead the horse). To be in harmony (and therefore healthy and beautiful, we might add), the it, the I and the over-self need to be in balance, but often this is not the case, because the it does not do its own thing and only follows its own instincts, seeking comfort and convenience and the satisfaction of needs, the self is supposedly rationally driven by success and what will help it survive and achieve ‘that something more’ (including good looks), and the super-self is the one that is so deep that often we don’t even have contact with it because the first two are often so much pulling at each other.

They are dragging us here because we are bombarded daily, from the very small feet to the very edge of life, by the aggressive pressures of society and consumer capitalism on what we must or must not do. we should — to achieve beauty, success, determination, energy and, of course, a youthful appearance, if possible even at an older age.

What’s beauty got to do with — the liver?

Since we have already written about how to achieve the magic of life through self-love, which is of course conditional on inner harmony (HERE), we will only bypass love this time, even though it is the very foundation to support the attainment of beauty, the timelessness of which we have also already addressed (HERE). Instead, this time we will highlight the importance of inner health and proper functioning – of the liver.

According to Dr Gordana Markovic, MD, Ayurvedic physician (and my Ayurvedic teacher in my first postgraduate Ayurveda course here), the internal imbalance that the liver, as the largest internal organ and the largest and most important gland, ‘feels’ is almost always reflected in the skin. So when we think about the condition (and appearance) of our skin, we should also think about our liver. Dr Marković, who gives an inspiring presentation of Ayurveda (Ayurveda is the science of life) as a path to health that dictates that we live according to our natural rhythms, mentions, amongst other things, that in practice, people whose therapies focus on liver support and health often also see the positive consequences of a more beautiful and also visibly healthier skin.

But of course and in no way does this mean ‘just take care of your liver and that’s it’, as the first reader of this blog put it so vividly and honestly before it was published (!). Of course, there are many other factors, from internal to external (let’s not forget quality cosmetics! 😁), but absolutely, thinking about it ultimately leads us to ‘ever-present stress’, which definitely requires its own – and equally holistic – treatment.

Estrogen – the hormone of beauty and youth

Ayurvedic consultant and healer Vesna Majes Klančičar from the Plavica family bio-farm also points to estrogen as a key (sex) hormone in relation to feminine beauty, which is also described by Plavica as the ‘hormone of youth’, because by making sure that we (women!) have sufficient levels of estrogen in our bodies (a well-known Ayurvedic therapist in the West). Dr. Claudia Welchalso author of the excellent book ‘Balance Your Hormones, Balance Your Life’, stresses that sex and stress hormones must be in balance), we also ensure that our skin looks youthful, which means less or less stress, which means less or less stress, which means less or less stress. less pronounced wrinkles, fewer skin anomalies, more radiance in the skin, hair and nails, and last but not least, slowing down the ageing process.

Dr Gordana Marković explains this by saying that when we take care of the liver – as an extremely important internal organ responsible for, among other things, the absorption of nutrients, the metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins and fats, and detoxification – we are also taking care of the health of the internal organs, which are therefore also ageing more slowly, and this is (of course!) also reflected in the external organs, including the skin.

I can attest to this myself, because after I did an Ayurvedic treatment for (long-standing) hormonal migraines for about 3 months, which actually affected my reproductive tissue and liver, I also got incredibly better-looking skin. (Really – who wouldn’t defend that? 😁) In any case, I can tell anyone who compliments the way my skin looks (especially if we haven’t seen each other for a while) that I have been using Nanu natural products for almost a year now. 😁

When the light comes on …

And, as Plavika goes on to say, with the right levels of oestrogen, optimism and zest for life return, and with it the desire to be active. It’s not wrong to say a sparking curiosity and childlike enthusiasm for life 😁), and libido and a healthy desire for sex (after all, estrogen is a sex hormone), and speaking of beauty – it awakens the original beauty, based on the source of the eternal beauty within us. A light that has been anchored in us all along, we just need to give it the chance to really shine with its full power.

I would also add that when we talk about preserving youth, we should not limit ourselves to a youthful appearance, i.e. to the superficial part, but we should really focus our attention – as the healerAndrej Majes (Vesna’s brother, co-owner of Plavice and the representative of Maharishi Ayurveda in our country) points out – inwards, i.e. to the deeper part. When this is in harmony (and all three levels – the beyond, the self and the super-self – are balanced, according to Freud), the youthfulness and energy ‘generated’ by our internal organs (let’s not forget a healthy liver!) will be reflected outwards.

What will you serve your skin today?

Think, for example, of a person close to you who is bursting with energy and whose ‘exuberance’ borders on the childish (this doesn’t mean immaturity, I mean the sparkle and joy inherent in children), and then, a little jokingly, a little seriously, ask that person what they do for themselves, for their well-being – you will see whether it is more important what they take in (not only as nourishment, but also mentally), or whether it is what they put on.

But the best and most beautiful thing is to provide holistic support for our beauty, our inner light, and that is to follow first and foremost the natural rhythms of life (i.e. a healthy daily routine that includes a healthy diet in moderation at the right time of day, sleep hygiene, and care for a calm mind and soul), while at the same time providing truly loving skin care (which is why we at Nano also constantly emphasise the importance of the importance of maintaining a regular beauty routine). We would also like to remind you – as Dr Gordana Marković points out – that in Ayurveda, we do not put anything on our skin that we are not also willing to consume. Yes, the skin too – literally! – eats the nutrients we put on it, so it is worth thinking about ‘what we are going to serve it’.

We can only serve you with the saying of the wise Maharishi, who said of woman, ” The dignity of woman’s life is infinite, her status immeasurable, her capacity unlimited, her role divine.”

As this blog was inspired by the August free webinars of the Plavica Farm, where they organised a slightly broader campaign to ‘revive the youthful woman’, we also share the link to the campaign page: https:%C5%

Because at Nano we also believe – to quote Vesna Majes Klančičar – that women need knowledge and that it is worth investing in knowledge about how to build and nurture ourselves. To nurture the light of beauty.
